About ME

Claus Schmitt works at the Rotterdam School of Management (Erasmus University) as an Assistant Professor of Finance since 2016. His research interests include credit risk, asset pricing, and market microstructure.

Claus received his Ph.D. (summa cum laude) from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and was a visiting Ph.D. student at the Ross School of Business (University of Michigan). He also holds a Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Mannheim and an MBA from ESSEC Business School (double-degree program). During his master studies, he gained work experience at the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) and Sal. Oppenheim (m&a advisory).

Claus teaches Financial Distress and Corporate Restructuring (MSc Finance) and International Corporate Finance (MSc IM/CEMS) at the Rotterdam School of Management.
